About TIF

TIF is an independent think-tank dedicated to shaping and evaluating India's public policy related to infrastructure, with a particular focus on transportation, energy, water & sanitation, social infrastructure, and cities. We are a growing hub for exchange of knowledge and research, providing independent analysis,initiating new subjects for public deliberation, participating in conversations on infrastructure, evaluates programs and shares solutions in related investments and capacity building, especially in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).

TIF was Founded by reputed professionals and works at the intersection of infrastructure development and public policy, with a large network of industry leaders and experts from various technical domains. The Foundation upholds the impartial, enlightened, and respected voice of reason.

About CAIRA

The Centre for Agri Infrastructure Research & Action (CAIRA) is a new initiative by TIF. The Centre will focus on evidence-based advocacy for bridging the gaps in infrastructure for the agriculture sector including horticulture, livestock, dairy and fisheries. CAIRAs work will include action research and advocacy through events and media engagement.

The Research Associate

The profile offers an excellent opportunity to an outstanding individual to understand the economic and social importance of infrastructure development. The RA will directly support the Chairman and members of the Governing Council of CAIRA. The Chairman of CAIRA is Mr. Siraj Hussain, former Secretary, Agriculture in Government of India. The RA will be involved in research, analysis, fieldwork, presentations,and related tasks, especially the writing of outputs. The role will provide exposure to cutting-edge policy issues in agri infrastructure development in India and give the incumbent an opportunity to sharpen her/his understanding and ability to engage with the sector.The role will also give the incumbent experience of organization development, fundraising and advocacy.

Education

• Undergraduate degree in Economics/Commerce
• Post-graduate degree/MBA in Public Policy, Economics, Statistics, Foreign Trade.

Work Experience

• 1-2 years of experience in non-profit, research or consultancy is desirable.

Competency

• Should be competent in analysing national and state/district level databases and surveys.
• Should be competent in analysing trends and developments related to agri marketing, supply chains, etc.in India and across the globe.

Skills

• Good organisation skills
• Proficiency inuse of MS Office, STATA, Internet Browsers,Communication software
• Proficiency in use of AI-based research methods
• Working knowledge of Data collection,Statistical Analysis, Impact Evaluation, Budgeting, Drafting policy/issue briefs
• Excellent writing skills

Languages

Compensation

• Commensurate with industry benchmarks and suitability of candidates profile.

Duration of appointment

• Initial duration of recruitment will be 6 months. Extension of term will be considered after appraisal of performance.
